PREVENT + PROMOTE + PROTECT

Body Art

Our staff inspects the licensed body art facilities to ensure safe, sanitary methods are being utilized to reduce the risks of complications and health issues.

The Ohio Regulations for this program can be found at: Ohio Administrative Code 3701-9.  A summary of the regulations can be downloaded for your reference:  Tattoo Facility Requirements

The current state regulations require that health departments inspect these facilities at least once per year.  Our staff conducts a comprehensive inspection of all facilities monthly during their first year of operation and then quarterly after they have passed their one year anniversary of being in business.
Prior to opening a facility, all applicants must fill out an application and complete our plan review process.

An application to operate a tattoo and/or body piercing establishment can be downloaded here: Tattoo & Body Piercing License Application
