Nuisance Complaints

Under Ohio Revised Code 3707.01 the Board of Health is to abate and remove all nuisances within its jurisdiction, and this may include matters in the opinion of the board to be in a condition that is dangerous to life or health.

The Crawford County Health Department will investigate nuisance complaints from citizens and other entities. Generally we investigate nuisances outside of the house or building. Examples: residential septic system failing with sewage in yard or ditch, garbage in yard, etc.

We do not do interior housing unless requested by another county/city agency, or if it is affecting the general public in the area of the nuisance.

Our office currently requires all nuisance complaints filed with our office to be in writing.  We will not accept a complaint over the phone or anonymously.  To file a complaint, you may request our office to mail you a complaint form to return to our office, you may download the form (see below) to return to our office, or you may stop at out office to fill out a form.
