Services Provided

WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. WIC provides Nutrition Education, Breastfeeding Support, and Supplemental Foods.

Qualifications

You may qualify for the WIC Program if you are:

  • Pregnant, breastfeeding, or a woman who recently had a child (up to six months)
  • An infant or child under the age of 5
  • At medical or nutrition risk and meet income guidelines

Did you know?

Crawford County WIC offers Breastfeeding Support and Education to WIC Participants. We have an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) on staff along with an experienced Breastfeeding Peer Helper to assist mothers with resources and knowledge to increase initiation and duration of breastfeeding. Our IBCLC also offers breastfeeding classes and learning groups. See link below.

Crawford County WIC is also an OhioHealth Mothers’ Milk Bank Donor Drop off Site

  • Infants and children up to the age of five including foster children.
  • Fathers may apply for their children.
  • You must live in Crawford County or be a migrant working in Crawford County.

To see if you are eligible for WIC services, call (419) 562-5859, (419) 462-1197, or (419) 683-2921. Although we do have income guidelines for our services, many working families qualify. A family of four(4) can earn over $43,000 per year and unborn babies count as a family member for WIC services.

WIC Provides:

Healthy Foods like:

  • Milk, cheese, eggs, 100% fruit juice, iron fortified cereal, peanut butter or dried beans.
    Breastfeeding women also get tuna fish and carrots.
  • Parents of infants get breastfeeding support or iron fortified infant formula.

Nutrition Education

  • Do you have questions about what your child eats? Is he growing well? Why is she such a picky eater? How can I get my child to try new foods? We can help you with good nutrition tips, recipes and more! Breastfeeding Support
  • Is my baby getting enough to eat? Can I breastfeed when I go back to work? What is a breast pump and how do I use it? Would I qualify for a WIC breast pump? We can help you wade through the fads and the facts.

  • Where can I find information on day care? Does my toddler have all her shots? I sure could use some help with…

  • The main office is located at 1520 Isaac Beal Rd., Bucyrus, Ohio 44820.
    Monthly clinics held in Galion and Crestline. Please call the main office for locations, dates, and hours of operation.
